Honda Civic Wouldn’t Start in Blyth – Immobiliser & ECU Problem Solved

Today we were called out to Blyth, near the Port of Blyth, to look at a 2006 Honda Civic that simply refused to start.
The customer had already done the sensible thing and had some mechanical checks carried out first. Fuel delivery had been considered, and attention had turned to whether something more electronic was stopping the vehicle from firing up.
This is where modern vehicles — and even older vehicles like this Honda — can sometimes catch people out.

The Fix – Re-registering the ECU
After carrying out diagnostics and following the correct process, we successfully re-registered the ECU and immobiliser system.
The result?
The Honda fired straight into life.
For the customer, that meant no recovery truck, no unnecessary parts replacement and no expensive guessing game.
